121, 116 x2, and 100 x2 [Christian X: 50 øre black and red violet, 40 øre black and violet, and 10 øre red (brilliant shade)] on unusual high-franking 1921 registered cover from AABENRAA to the U.S. Cover is seriously worn, however, the 50 øre is scarce on envelopes (i.e. not parcel card) and high-franking covers to foreign countries are seldom seen. Items such as this must be preserved. |

325 x3, 323, 334, 335 [1951 55 øre Brown Frederik IX and other values of set: 25 Light Blue, 30 Brownish Red, 40 Gray] (VF) on a 25 May 1954 registered airmail business-size envelope to the U.S. The envelope is a little aged, but the stamps are all VF. The rate is correct for 20 grams: 60 for surface rate to 20 grams, 40 registry fee, 4 x 40 airmail surcharge. The net of the three rate components make this rate possible only from 1 July 1953 through 31 March 1957. This unassuming cover is an extremely scarce item! The 55 øre Brown is rare on cover: AFA 2007 lists it at DKK 1200 = US$210 for a typical usage. This usage is much more interesting, with three examples of the stamp and the franking is "pure" Frederik IX! |

444A x4 (two pairs), 494 [1969 4 kr gray Coat of Arms; 1974 50 øre brown Wavy-Lines NUMERAL ENGRAVED BY SLANIA] (VF) 16.50 franking on 8 December 1980 Adressekort parcel card [official form "K24 (1-77 A6)"] for one 2.3 kg parcel from ALBERTSLUND to Brabrand. Marked for "Rekommanderet pakke" (registered parcel), but no valuation stated. Instead of the usual red on white numbered parcel label, has a black on pink "V" numbered insured mail label (but again, no value was stated). The insured label has a handstamped "ALBERTSLUND" instead of a pre-printed town name. The component postal rates for 16.50 are: parcel 1-5 kg 10.00 (17 April 1979 - 1 January 1981) plus registration fee (special for parcels) 6.50 (2 June 1980 - 1 January 1981). Since no insurance amount was declared, even though a "V" insurance label was applied, apparently the slightly higher registration fee trumps (I do not know if registration of parcels included a default amount of insurance). A nice item for a Coat of Arms or Parcel Post collection. |

Marked for "Rekommanderet pakke" (registered parcel), but no valuation stated. Instead of the usual red on white numbered parcel label, has a black on pink "V" numbered insured mail label with pre-printed town name. The component postal rates for 22.50 are: parcel 5-10 kg 16.00 (17 April 1979 - 1 January 1981) plus registration fee (special for parcels) 6.50 (2 June 1980 - 1 January 1981). Since no insurance amount was declared, even though a "V" insurance label was applied, apparently the slightly higher registration fee trumps (I do not know if registration of parcels included a default amount of insurance).
