B22 [1936 2m+20p Statesman Gustaf Mauritz Armfelt Red Cross semi-postal] Used single with Fine+ centering and absolutely superb WIITASAARI (now Viitasaari) 2 January 1936 SECOND DAY cancellation; Russian-Text-Removed type. The official first day of this issue was 1 January, however, with virtually all post offices closed on New Years Day, first day covers are extremely rare (the Facit value for a 01-01-1936 first day cover is SEK 20,000!!!) -- 2 January was the effective first day of actual use of this stamp, but even Second Day Covers are very scarce. Though the stamp has typical centering for the issue, the postmark is perfectly struck and perfectly centered. (Properly dated, used-in-period, postmarks are scarce on set.) This is an extremely unusual and very special example! It will not surprise me if a Finnish auction house buys this stamp and puts it on the front cover of one of their catalogs!
