Q1, Facit #P4IC2 [1915 1 øre, Perforation 11.5, OFFICIALLY REPERFORATED in 1918] Used VF but with moderate thin and tiny corner crease. Officially reperforated at right -- this printing was first made with imperforate sheet margins; 225 sheets had those margins officially reperforated to make them look more like other stamps. Only 675 of each side originally existed -- probably fewer than 300 of this right position remain today. Wonderful quality rarely seen on these officially reperforated issues. This is about as nice looking as these officially reperforated issues get, but at a very low price. Otherwise would be $200.

Wowern listed plate variety "Ck": "Cut in top frame line above TO" from sheet position 12. Wonderfully fresh and bright example of a stamp that is quite scarce in NH condition. Scott #Q3, Facit #P6II, Daka #8II, Wowern #23 [1918 5 øre Pakke-Porto, 1924 Printing II, Light Red Brown, Perforation 11.5] Used with XF centering and huge margins, but with light vertical crease that is mostly only visible from the backside. For reasons not known to me, vertical creases are fairly typical on this printing of the 5 øre stamp. Beautiful example. Otherwise would be $160 for this centering.

Scott #Q3, Facit #P6II, Daka #8II, Wowern #23 [1918 5 øre Pakke-Porto, 1924 Printing II, Light Red Brown, Perforation 11.5] Used with VF-XF centering and huge, even margins, but with natural vertical crease and generalized vertical banding that is mostly only visible from the backside. Vertical creases and banding are quite typical and "natural" in the paper on this printing of the 5 øre stamp. Wowern listed plate variety "Cg": "Extra curl on tip of left-most wave" from sheet position 25. Beautiful example with light, but completely proper black oval cancellation. Otherwise would be $150 (without consideration of the plate variety) for this centering.

Scott #Q3 "THICK PAPER". Facit #P6I, Daka 8I, Wowern #16. [5 øre Pakke-Porto, 1918 Printing I, Light Red Brown, Medium to Thick Paper, Perforation 11.5] Used with VF centering and JUMBO MARGINS, with a light, but completely correct, oval black cancellation. This example, with 0.08 mm thick paper, is from sheet position 1, with the Wowern "Ce" variety: cut in top frame line near left corner. (Printings II and III are on very thin paper and often have darker color.) The 5 øre stamp, regardless of printing, is very scarce in such nice quality. To put that into perspective, this was the nicest Used example of the 5 øre stamp from a collection of about 25 examples!

Scott #Q5 THICK PAPER, Facit #P8II, AFA #8I, Daka #10II, Wowern #20 [1915 15 øre Pakke-Porto (parcel post), 1923 Thick Paper printing] Used with VF centering. Huge, balanced margins and neat, light, correct cancellation: violet crown-over-straight-line "GRØNLANDS STYR(ELSE)". Faint, press-out crease at upper left corner (not mentioned by the certificate and only visible under magnification). Very fresh and attractive. A very scarce stamp missing from most collections; most European-printed albums have a space for this thick-paper version. The stamp has Wowern plate variety "Fe", flattened top frame line at left corner. Wonderful centering and very neat cancellation, but one minor blunted perforation tooth at left. Postal Savings "fiscal" cancellation: "(Landsfoged)en i Nordgrønla(nd)" crown and straight-line in violet (Wowern "purple") VF strike on Scott #Q6 [20 øre Pakke-Porto, Perforation 11.5] Used with XF centering, with a full additional blue crayon "X" cancellation. Single strike of this large postmark, excellent to the extent that it can fit on a single stamp. Listed by Wowern in GF1 1988 on page 60. While not a numbered "Avane" cancellation, this served the same purpose and was mostly only used for the savings system. Wowern noted that the additional blue lines are typical with this cancellation. The Wowern 1988 value for this cancellation is 300, double the value of the most common Avane numeral cancellations. This cancellation is not often seen, and when it is seen, it is usually only a partial strike such as this one. An very nice example!

Scott #Q11 [1937 1 krone Redrawn Design, Lithographed, Perf 11] Used with Superb centering. Violet circular date cancel (date not showing). While this cannot be proven to be proper postal use (and not canceled to order), this example is as close as I have seen in many years to be properly postally used. This cancellation is seldom seen in violet (Wowern notes a value of 300 instead of 100 for black). If violet was in use for canceled to order examples, I would expect to see many more of them. An outstanding example!
Avane #36 (Tugssak) in either black or light-violet-black, only Fine strike but the "36" is quite clear. Though light, is almost perfectly centered postal savings cancel on Scott #Q8a [1930 1 kr Pakke-Porto, Perforation 11.5] with F-VF centering. Additional blue crayon line as often seen in the savings books. The stamp has Wowern-listed "Ha" PLATE VARIETY: "italicized E in PAKKE" from sheet position 7. While this Avane number is not "rare", it is a little scarcer than some others, and it is much less often seen on the 1 kr stamp! This example is the only one I have recorded having with this cancellation color.
