80 SMALL PEARL FLAW Position 69, AFA #61æ [1912 35 surcharge on 20 øre Bicolor] Used F-VF+ with a clear example of the "small pearl flaw" variety. This example is defined by Lasse Nielsen as Pearl Flaw B37 which occurs in Position 69 of the underlying 20 øre stamp Print 7; the overprinting was only done on Print 7 stamps. The cancel is neat and light, allowing the variety to be seen. (This general postmark type was in use at the time, but this example is not year dated.) Wonderful, fresh and bright example of a seldom seen variety. AFA 2008 Specialized value DKK 1000 = $185 [12/2011] which is a very small premium over the normal-stamp value of DKK 600! |
