190 [1926 7 øre Surcharge on 15 øre Official, Crosses Watermark, Perf 14 x 14.5] Used F-VF+ centering and appropriate machine cancellation. Very interesting PARTIALLY MISSING OVERPRINT VARIETY. Missing the majority of the top half of the overprint including the "7", the top line of text, and more than the top halves of the side lines. The cause of the variety was not a problem with the printing plate. For reasons I do not understand, the gumming of the (underlying) watermark-crosses Official stamps was only occasionally messy and sometimes resulted in small areas of gum ending up on the face of some stamps. When such gum-on-face stamps were overprinted, they looked normal, but when they were later soaked off envelope paper, parts of the overprint came off right along with that gum. This is not an "error" by the traditional definition, but instead falls under the FO area of the EFO (Errors, Freaks, and Oddities) category. While such overprinted Officials are not rarities, they are much scarcer than the same variety on overprinted Newspaper stamps. Examples this extreme are extremely unusual and examples with the overprinted numeral seemingly missing are of significantly greater interest to specialists.

233 (German Paper) [1933 25 øre blue Caravel] Mint VF centered 4-Block, but without gum. Wonderful appearance! This stamp is one of only two (the other is the 30 øre orange) of the first engraving type that were issued only on the German Paper. Mint blocks of the German Paper stamps are scarce. This stamp is the key value of the set and the key value of the time period. Four Mint Hinged singles would sell for $336!

244 ALBINO SURCHARGE, AFA #221æ, Facit #238v2 [1934 4 øre Surcharge on 25 øre blue Caravel Ship] NH F-VF. Blind-print error caused by two sheets going through the overprinting press at the same time. The surcharge is not visible from the front, but shows up as a strong impression on the back side. Probably only one sheet thus produced. Very scarce with an AFA 2016 Specialized catalog value of DKK 4000 (about $640 6/17). Wonderfully fresh example with the F-VF centering typical for this variety.

258-61 [1937 King Christian X 25th Anniv.] Used VF complete set, each with matching SKIVE 15 May 1937 FIRST DAY OF ISSUE town cancellations. The cancels on the two vertical stamps (10 and 30 øre) are VF to Superb; the other two F-VF. First day covers of this issue are scarce (and not priced in any catalog of which I am aware) and from smaller cities especially scarce, but used sets of singles are rarely offered.

TB 39 (Facit #TB 381) 25 øre Violet Frederik IX. [Scott #354] Tete-beche without gutter. VF and otherwise NH, but with gum soak staining on one corner perforation tooth (from incorrect licking of stamp mount). However, with only 140 pairs released, this is one of the rarest of these tete-beche pairs and would otherwise be $1000! Rarely offered in any quality.

609 PRINTING / COLOR VARIETY [1977 1.00 kr Flower] An unusual type of printing variety: The UPPER RIGHT FLOWER, including the bottom part of it, is ALL YELLOW, instead of the bottom of that flower being green. The three colors (frame, foliage, flowers) of the stamp were all inked on the single printing cylinder prior to the cylinder coming into contact with the paper. The placement of the ink colors onto the cylinder was tricky, with a tiny change sometimes having a dramatic effect. Group of THREE "errors" showing the all-yellow upper right flower, one NH Superb, and two used -- one of which an almost perfectly struck FÅBORG 1977 cancellation. Accompanied by a normal NH stamp showing the green base of the upper right flower. The previous owner paid $60 for the single NH "error" stamp sometime prior to 2010! Offered as the group of three, plus a normal.
