19 [1975 450 oyru Farm] "BROWN HILL" variety. This variety in which the hillside in the upper left corner is distinctly brownish has been well known since 1975 or 1976. Yet it has never been catalog listed whereas many lesser varieties have been listed. This variety is somewhat scarcer than the usual "green hill" stamps.

VF: 1976 Postal Independence (Scott #21, 23 engraved by Slania). [81451]
65 Olive COLOR ERROR [1981 10 oyru Rune Stone] NH VF single in Yellowish Olive Green instead of the normal Gray Green. Our late friend and Faroe modern-issues expert Art Quarles, who had many personal contacts inside the Faroe post office, was "absolutely sure" that this color difference existed when the Faroe post office received their supply from the stamp printer and that it was not a color changeling. I last had a few examples of this error back in 2007 and all very quickly sold for $250 each. I now have only four more examples.
