| Faroe first started issuing machine stamps on October 9, 2008. While these stamps were not made for the type of machines produced by the Frama company, many people call all machine stamps "FRAMA" stamps. Others call them "automat" stamps. These are real postage stamps, not meters or labels. They are valid from any location in the Faroes, at any time, by any mailer. (Unlike meter imprints which are only valid from the location and on the date imprinted, by the licensed user.) |
