The so-called "M-63" Lion design coincided with the major currency change (100 marks became 1 mark) and was the definitive issue used until 1975. The postal history of this stamp design underappreciated; it is rich and varied with a tremendous range of postal services, rates, markings, destinations, etc., though nice material is hard to find.
