207 (VF) on 25 October 1941 surface mail cover addressed to Dr. Helgi P. Briem in Portugal. This envelope would have contained an "UNDERCOVER" LETTER for forwarding to Denmark. Censored by the British. Dr. Helgi P. Briem, at Rua da Victoria 7 III, Lisbon, Portugal, was the Icelandic Trade Commissioner to Portugal. Dr. Briem accepted "undercover" letters from Iceland for forwarding to Denmark. Postal service directly from Iceland to Denmark was suspended; mail had to pass through a neutral country such as Portugal. Such Icelandic UNDERCOVER MAIL is extremely scarce and largely unknown to most WWII postal history collectors.

208B on ca.1945 air cover to Sweden (back flap missing). The airmail postal rates were EXTREMELY confusing after the end of the war as service was resumed in bits and pieces. I have not been able to properly "rate" this cover, but rates are not fully reconstructed for airmail to Sweden at this time. Very unusual usage.
