The color is similar to Scott #15a (Rose, Clear Printing) but this example does not have the clear printing, though many people would probably identify this as #15a. An attractive example of a stamp that is hard to find in nice quality. |

15a (Facit #15b: Rose, Clear Print) [1867 "8 SKILL 8" Lion Coat of Arms, Rose with Clear Print] Used with Fine+ centering and neat "LAURDAL I THE(LEM:)" 15 March 18?? Fine centered single-ring town cancellation. This postmark on this stamp issue has a NK rarity rating of 6 (out of 10); scarce (on the most common 4 sk stamp of the issue the NK value is NOK 400!). There are a few blunted perforations on the left side, but that is trivial for this stamp. (See this article on our web site for more information and illustrations about the identification of Scott #15a.) Facit 2024 value is SEK 3500. An attractive example of a scarce stamp and with a scarce cancellation too! |
