| The Norwegian "T" postage due marking/cancellation usage went well beyond that of most countries. In most countries various "T" markings have applied to covers, by the originating (or transit) post office, to indicate to the receiving post office that postage due was to be collected from the addressee. Norway followed this practice as well. However, Norway also used "T" cancellations directly to postmark regular postage stamps to indicate that they had been specifically used to pay postage due. Collecting Norwegian "T"-canceled stamps is a lot of fun; there are several types of postmarks and it is a challenge to find them on as many different stamps as possible. Mounted approval pages of these cancellations are available. |
