(Scott #40) 21 mm Frame, Facit #39B, NK #37 II [1882 10 øre Unshaded Posthorn, 21 mm Frame, Electrotyped with all different cliche types in the plate] Used with XF centering, great color, perfect perforations, and perfectly centered, Superb TJØMØ 8 August 1882 single-ring town cancellation. An outstanding example of a stamp that many people like to collect with as many different postmarks as possible.

41 [1883 12 øre Olive Green 21 mm Posthorn] Used Superb with very neat and clear 1884 cancellation, exceptional centering, excellent perforations, and strong color. However, this beauty has a shallow thin that is hard to see, and which some might not notice. One could search for many years and not find a nicer looking example! Otherwise $600+ for this quality!

41 [1883 12 øre Green] Used Superb looking example with very neat cancellation, but with a couple faults so small that 99% of people would not find them: Two very tiny thin spots near center and another in bottom margin, shorter perforation tooth where cancellation crosses bottom margin, and upper right corner tooth has been creased. This stamp looks terrific -- much, much better than most examples in the market. Without the insignificant problems, this would easily fetch $600+.

41 [1883 12 øre green 21 mm Frame Posthorn] Used with XF centering. A mostly sound example of a stamp that often has serious quality problems or repairs. The upper and lower left corner perforation teeth have been creased (you will probably need 10x magnification to see) and the lower left corner has some slight paper aging. One blunted perforation tooth. This is often the last stamp needed to complete a Norway collection -- this example is offered at a very reasonable price! This centering would otherwise be $450.

43, Facit #43vm2, NK #39Y Vertical Watermark (in NK watermark position 6) [1882 20 øre Brown, Unshaded Posthorn, 21 mm Frame, Vertical Wtmk] Mint Fine-centered 6-BLOCK with FIVE STAMPS NEVER HINGED (top center stamp lightly hinged). Provenance: From the Norm Gary collection (identified by Norm Gary as plate positions 36-38/46-48), then the Jay Smith stock, then the David Carnahan collection, and now the Jay Smith stock again. This is a very scarce multiple! Facit 2022 Classic prices NH singles at SEK 4500 EACH, Hinged singles at SEK 1300; and an all-hinged FOUR-block at SEK 9,000 (or a 1.73 multiplier of four Hinged singles to a block). NK 2018 uses a block multiplier of 2.777 for this stamp and records only TWO unused 6-blocks (total for both vertical and horizontal watermark; hinging status not reported) as well as 7 larger unused units. The total Facit value for the six singles in this block is SEK 23,800 and as a block it can be extrapolated to a value in the neighborhood of SEK 40,000. An extraordinary and important Mint (mostly NH) multiple from the 21 mm Posthorn issue. Such multiples are seldom offered, typically only once every one or two generations. An extraordinary item at a very reasonable price.

43, Facit #43vm2, NK #39Y Vertical Watermark [1882 20 øre Brown, Unshaded Posthorn, 21 mm Frame, Vertical Wtmk] Mint, very moderately hinged, with F-VF+ centering. A wonderfully fresh and attractive example with great color. I have provided the watermark information for completeness, but this is the "normal" watermark orientation on this stamp. This is not one of the highest catalog value stamps in the range, but Mint examples are amazingly hard to find in such nice quality.
