Norway: Souvenir Cards: Regular Souvenir Cards 1980-1989

Norgeskatalogen numbers (NK #) have been used where they exist. Reference to "NK" followed by a year means that the souvenir card was issued in the stated year's Norgeskatalogen, however, the actual year of issue is always one year earlier. All items are fresh and in VF condition. All items are available for viewing on approval.

NK #SA1 1982 Authors, Mint, NH. : (Reproduces pairs of Scott #810-1.) As printed, the mint cards were not canceled nor marked as not being valid for postage. For a few days stamps cut from the cards were accepted for postal use. Many collectors, albums, and catalogs consider these to be "stamps". Facit #BL4.

(NK #SA1) 1982 Authors, Singles from mint version of souvenir card affixed to set of two covers. : As printed, the mint cards were not canceled nor marked as not being valid for postage. For a few days stamps cut from the cards were accepted for postal use. This set of covers shows postal use on covers to Sweden, in the correct time period. Extremely scarce!

1984 "Salon Der Philatelie Zum XIX Weltpostkongress Hamburg 1984" (UPU) reproducing Scott #299-301 [1949 UPU] set. Though the card states that 7000 were printed, it seems that this was only given to UPU conference delegates. There seem to never have been any dealer stocks of this item (which makes sense) and they are only found one at a time (which also makes sense). Very scarce!

1985 Europa Musicians BLACKPRINT Souvenir Card, in complete EFTA book. This card was only issued in the EFTA / Europa 25-year book published in 1985; only 7000 issued, but "impossible" to find. The book also contains Switzerland EFTA-metered cover, Austria 1985 EFTA and Europa stamps, Finland 1985 EFTA and Europa (now $20!) stamps, Finland EFTA souvenir card (scarce), Iceland 1985 Europa stamps, Norway 1985 Europa stamps and the blackprint souvenir card, Portugal 1985 EFTA and Europa stamps, Sweden, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein 1985 Europa stamps, and Austrian EFTA souvenir card. Some of these items are quite scarce; the Norwegian blackprint is extremely scarce.
