Slesvig covers are very interesting due to the short period of use, several postal rate changes, mail from/to the two different zones, and the many different (often scarce) town cancellations.

1-10 small-design set (F-VF to VF) [2 1/2 to 75 Pf] on 4 March 1920 philatelic registered cover from "WYK (FÖHR)". Scarce registry label; the only one I can recall seeing from this town in 33 years. The used stamps alone (off cover) would sell for $19.25 and at least $30 as postmark cuttings.

1-14 (Fine to VF) [Zone II complete set] on 20 February 1920 philatelic cover from FELDSTEDT, a scarcer town postmark. The postmark appears to be "20 12" but the "1" is actually a spacer between the dates. This is priced little more than the value of the used stamps!

11-14 Top Values (F-VF to VF) [1-10 mark, Zone II] on 10 February 1920 philatelic cover from TONDER to Germany. The 2 mark with plate variety: G of SLESVIG with white spot. This cover is postmarked on the day of the ZONE I PLEBISCITE ELECTION, that resulted in the northern zone becoming Danish. Top-values covers are seldom seen. This is priced little more than the value of the used stamps!
