17 Orange Brown [1872 3 öre Ringtype, Perf 14] Used F-VF with COLORED CANCELLATION: Partial BLUE "...VALL" (probably HUDIKSVALL which is recorded in blue) 1875. Despite the partial cancel, most colored cancellations in this period are extremely scarce and sought after. I am not aware of any priced catalog of Swedish colored cancellations. Very attractive.

22 Dark Blue, Rough Print [1872 12 öre Ringtype, Perf 14] Used VF, but defective (thin, hole). COLORED CANCELLATION: Well centered and nearly complete BLUE HEDEMORA 27 January 1876. Despite the quality problems of the stamp, most colored cancellations in this period are extremely scarce and sought after. The blue Hedemora has been recorded, but I have not previously seen an example; I am not aware of any priced catalog of Swedish colored cancellations.

23b DOUBLE PRINT [1876 20 on 20 öre Ringtype Perf 14] Used F-VF with neat, upright GRENNA 4 August 1877 cancellation (plus small part of another strike). One printing of the 20 öre was so light in Pale Orange olor as to be almost useless (though some were released and used) and thus they were run through the press again to print in a darker color. Facit lists three possible color groups on top of the Pale Orange; This is Facit #23c, the Dull Red, however, this red of this example is much softer or more pale than typically found (the colors were hand-mixed as needed and were not consistent). The red (top) color is shifted a little farther than usual from the underlying color, making this example a little more obvious than usual (clearly visible, but as always more visible with a 10x magnifier). Such obvious examples are scarce -- and especially when in such nice quality and with a nice postmark.

26 Light Carmine [1872 50 öre Ringtype, Perf 14] Used Fine, with well-struck, Superbly centered and complete EDSBRO 2 March 1875 cancellation. This small village post office only opened two months earlier on 1 January 1875 -- early use of a scarce postmark. Wonderful overall appearance, great color, excellent perforations, and great postmark. Such quality is very scarce, but additionally, the high denomination stamps are scarcer from small villages -- and the stamp itself is scarce.
