Swedish Machine Postmarks: Symbol Designs Starting 1996 (Nordin, 2008; Brevnatet Stamplar Symboler) Starting in 1996, Sweden Post concentrated postmarking of mail into 19 postal terminals. The postmarks at first bore the town name of the terminal location, but later only POSTEN SVERIGE. However, all the postmarks bore a pictorial symbol of the respective town/region. This is the primary catalog of this interesting and inexpensive collecting area. The text is in Swedish, but it is easy to use. 35 pages, metal coil bound. Includes illustrations, descriptions, dates of use, known varieties (with dates of use), explanation of the pictorial symbols, etc. This is important modern postal history. |
