Denmark: Frederik IX 1948-1960 FDC Exhibit
Exhibit by Alan Warren
Commentary below by Jay Smith

This collection, presented in competitive exhibit form, shows the cachets, cancellations, and uses of the first day covers of the Danish Frederik IX (1948-1960 design) definitive issue. To the best of my knowledge, this is the most comprehesive FDC exhibit of this issue that has been displayed.

The exhibit presents many different cachets as well as (very scarce) uses to obscure foreign destinations. Also represented are (scarce) examples of the several stamps for which the post office did not announce an official FD date or provide an official FD postmark.

In addition to sharing significant knowledge of what exists in this subject area, this exhibit also serves as an excellent demonstration of what can be done in the realm of FDC collecting and exhibiting. This exhibit has won gold medals in competition, including at Americover 2007 where it also won a special prize for the Best Foreign FDC exhibit.

I thank Alan Warren for making this exhibit available in PDF form and for allowing me to post it here for all to see.
