Newfoundland Postal Card Unitrade/Scott #UX 7 [1903-4 1c King Edward VII] Mint Superb. Incredibly fresh example. The entire design is engraved (printed by "recess"), which is somewhat unusual in the world of postal stationery. As such, the detail of the design is extremely deep and sharp. |

Great Britain / Canada / U.S. Cinderella: 1939 House of Seagram King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Good Will Tour to Canada and the U.S. Four panel folder containing a complete sheet tipped-in (adhered only be the very edge of the top selvedge) sheet of 18 British King and Queen labels. The labels are gummed (never hinged) with F-VF centering; each label bears gray backprint text "Compliments / of / The House / of Seagram". Has a U.S. 1939 (New York) copyright, but seems to have been distributed in the U.S. and Canada. A wonderful Cinderella item with the obvious alcohol topic connection, but the front of the folder also includes topics of: Arctic, tropics, sled dogs, Western wagon train, modern railway locomotive, sailing ships, early settlements, North American Indians, Military officers, settlers, etc. As of 5 November 2022, I have seen individual singles (sometimes without gum) sell for $1-2 each, and I am aware of one complete folder (with labels) that the owner paid about $100 for. I have not noticed any sales of the full sheets from the folder. This seems to be a "scarce" item. |
