Denmark: Advertising Pairs: Re 15-27
Danish advertising pairs and panes are listed, using identical numbering, by both Facit and AFA. The centering of the advertising labels and the stamps varies greatly within the panes and pairs; examples with VF centering are unusual in most cases; Superb centering is exceptional. The perforations of these issues were often quite variable, with small-hole perforations that resulted in rough appearance -- this is usually normal and typical. All are available for viewing on approval. Please send your want list for any items not listed.

Danish Advertising Pairs on cover are also availlable.
You will note in the illustrations that sometimes the postmark does not continue onto the label. This is typical and normal due to postal regulations which stated that the labels were not permitted on international mail. Thus, on covers, the labels were often covered by other stamps (which masked the postmarks).
In 2005, an important new handbook Danish Advertising Panes by James A. Gaudet was published. It contains a great deal of new research and never-before published information on the Danish advertising label pairs/panes and booklets. The book thoroughly covers the development, printing, production, and usage of these issues, with particular emphasis on the varieties of both the labels and the stamps. The result of many years of painstaking work, this book brings new life to its subject. Completely in English, hundreds of illustrations, hardbound, 230 pages. Published by the Scandinavian Philatelic Foundation (no longer in operation), the book can be ordered from Jay Smith and Associates.
