2009 Colorprint [Scott #1424: Old Towns / Villages Museums] of the 5.50 kr design of the Scott #1424-7 set. This extremely unusual progressive colorprint -- the only such that Denmark has produced that I am aware of -- consists of a NH VF perforated vertical strip of six stamps. The top four stamps in the strip are the individual offset-printed-only parts of the design in the four offset (lithographed) colors (yellow, magenta, cyan [blue], and black); the fifth stamp is the engraved-only part of the design, in black (by Martin Mörck); the sixth stamp is the completed design in all colors. This was only issued in a quantity of 5000, only in a simple, serially-numbered folder titled "Sidste Stik" (roughly, in context, "the final impression"), in a plastic sleeve. This strip and folder is a commemoration of the final printing of stamps on the old "M4" printing presses (in use since 1981). The folder also includes the NH VF complete set of four stamps and has text in Danish explaining the change-over of printing presses. Martin Mörck engraved the 5.50 and 10.50 kr stamps in the set, thus he engraved the blackprint fifth stamp in the strip; Bertil Skov Jørgensen engraved the 6.50 and 8.00 kr stamps in the set. Only 5000 strips / folders were issued. I was operating my new issue service at that time and I am sure that very few (I believe less than 100 and perhaps less than 50) of these made it to the United States. I believe I am probably the only dealer in the U.S. that has this "in stock" and (as of 1/15/2025) I do not recall seeing any offered by any dealers anywhere, even from Denmark, since the time of issue.
