Denmark: Booklets: Commemorative Booklets 1968-1981; Edition Numbers S1-S28

I have an extensive stock of all types and eras of Danish booklets, but I have only just started listing them here. Please send your want list or let me know of your interests. The most recent specialized cataloging of Danish booklets is the 1994 catalog by Boom (used copies occasionally available; please inquire). The AFA Specialized Catalog is the next most specialized listing, followed by the annual AFA catalog, and finally the Facit Catalog. I am able to fill want lists using the numbers of any of these catalogs, and by booklet edition numbers. All booklets are NH, VF, complete and fresh as originally issued.

Danish booklets containing commemorative stamps have edition numbers, prefixed with letter "S", printed somewhere on the cover (usually in the lower right corner of inside front cover or in the lower right corner of backside). The "S" is for "særfrimærker" which translates to "commemorative stamps". The panes of the commemorative booklets with edition numbers S1-25 and S27 are attached by a staple that goes all the way through both covers of the booklet, thus these booklets cannot be fully opened without creasing the cover. The commemorative booklets S26 and S28-onward (up to the self-adhesive stamps) have booklet panes that are adhered by their marginal selvage and thus they can be opened fully.

From 1994-2002 several commemorative "souvenir sheet booklets" were issued in addition to traditional booklets. From 2003-onward, again in addition to traditional booklets, annual commemorative "prestige booklets" have been issued. The prestige booklets are small books with additional pages and illustrations; they contain souvenir sheets only issued in these prestige booklets. With the advent of self-adhesive stamps, the booklets were often issued flat and were intended to be folded by the user.

The website images show the front covers and panes to the extent practical without damaging any booklets. The quality of all booklets covers and panes are as originally issued, without any extra creases or folding.

Commemorative booklets are listed here by Edition Number, and by Scott, AFA, Facit, and Boom booklet catalog numbers. Scott does not usually list Danish booklets and Scott often does not even mention the existence of booklet panes; thus in such cases the Scott number of the individual stamp issue is given.

I have a virtually complete stock of Danish commemorative booklets up through approximately 2013 (and some after). If you seek items not (or not yet) listed here, please send your want list.

The 1968-1981 Danish commemorative booklets have only a few variations. These can include, for only a few: upright or inverted panes; panes mounted by right or left margin; S14 has two sizes of the edition number; a few booklets are known with an additional slipped-inside updated postal rate page. Where I know of the existence of any such varieties, they are listed here, even if they are shown as "wanted" and are not currently available. (Some of the 1968-1981 booklets are also known with copper-colored vs silver-colored staples; these have not been cataloged anywhere of which I am aware and I have not listed them separately if I have them; inquires welcome.)
