Starting with a new design of Queen definitive stamps in 2010, Denmark resumed issuing coil stamps. These new coils are self-adhesive (as are their related sheet stamps) and so far (as of mid-2012) the stamps themselves seem to be identical to sheet stamps once they are removed from backing paper. However, the backing paper is different and when in pairs or larger units, the difference is even more obvious. The coil rolls are issued and only sold in dispenser boxes of 100 stamps, in the same general format being used in Norway and Finland. There are back numbers printed on the backing paper of every fifth stamp; in Europe these are often collected in 5-strips with the number. The back numbers are to facilitate counting how many stamps remain in the dispenser box.
