Scott #220 Type II, Blackish Green [1933 (1939 Type II) 1 øre Wavy-Line Numeral] WWII-era Encased Postage "Stamp Coin" with advertising with text "FOTO FILM" and the "Perutz" logo. Perutz was a German manufacturer of photographic film and plates; they also advertized and sold their products in Denmark. Fresh, in excellent quality with bright color and with completely intact cellophane wrapping. The advertizing paid for the packaging, allowing such "stamp coins" to be made and put into circulation for the value of the stamp, at a time when metal for coins was in very short supply. While there are many advertisers and designs, I do not recall previously having (in 52 years) this advertiser or design. It is not included in any of the collections of which I made images, but I could possibly have had it before 2000 in a collection. Regardless, this is a scarcer subject matter and design; it would be of significant importance in a topical / thematic collection related to photography.
REPRESENTATIVE image of stamp design.
