Official year books are handsome books that contain the stamps issued during the year as well as dozens of wonderful photographs and illustrations and interesting and informative text about the stamp issues and the country. Faroe official year books have been issued since 1987. Starting in 1989, the year books were issued in two language editions: Danish/Faroese and English/German. Unless otherwise stated, the edition with English text is offered below. (The other editions are sometimes available; please inquire if intersted.) The 1987 and 1988 editions are hardbound; the later editions are softbound. Each book conatins one year of stamps.
The year books are meant as a philatelic showcase for the country and are thus of the highest quality. Though most people collect the year books as year books, they are also a great way to get the stamps of the year and enjoy the wonderful photographs and text. They also make a great gift for anybody with a special attraction to the country. Some samples of the contents are shown below.
