Scott #2 Space Filler. This is a genuine postal stationery envelope cut-out from Facit #FK4 [1850 10 kopek Without Pearls in Posthorns] Carmine on Coarse Yellowish-White Wove Paper. It has an excellent printing impression, and a very neat low-box EKENAS 18 January 1851 cancellation, but it has been partially cut-to-shape (as is often the case) and there clean cut into the design in the lower right quadrant. This postal stationery, issued 1850-1855, pre-dates the addition of the "white pearls in the posthorns" that are on stationery starting in 1856 and on the postage stamps. While this is NOT a Scott #2, it is a reasonable space filler. ACTUAL item. |
