The 1939 booklet (Facit #H2) containing five different panes of M-30 Lion stamps exists with five possible "edition numbers" handstamped in violet on the lower right corner of the back cover: 1, 3, 7, 10, 11 (and rarely without a number). According to the literature, the purpose of these numbers is no longer known. Each of the five panes independently exists either upright (R) mounted by top margin, or inverted (I) mounted by bottom margin; they also exist with a fully perforated binding margin (x) or with an imperforate binding margin (y). Each pane will thus be identified as Rx, Ry, Ix, or Iy. The pane identification is as normally mounted in the booklet, from highest to lowest denomination. Combined with the cover edition numbers, these pane differences result a lot of theoretical combinations. However, it is probable that some of the combinations do not exist. There seems to be no information in the literature on relatively rarity of the numbers, mountings, or marginal perforations -- some are surely much scarcer or perhaps even rare. Of the edition numbers, 1 and 11 seem to be scarcer. R vs I panes seem to be roughly equal, however, perforated (x) margins seem to be a little more common than imperforate (y) margins. There are many combinations that I have either never seen or have only seen one example. If you are interested in building a specialized collection of the combinations, please let me know.
