Finland: Charity Seals: Animal Welfare

Finland has only a small number of non-Christmas charity seals compared to most of the other Scandinavian countries. Most such Finnish seals are unusual, if not scarce. I usually have a variety of items in stock that are not on the website (due to lack of time). I welcome information about your interests and I will be happy to send approvals.

I am only aware of three designs of Finnish Animal Welfare charity seals: a) 1906 vertical format with weakened horse pulling wagon; b) 1913 horizontal format with small birds on tree branches; and c) 1913 similar horizontal format with well kept horse.

The 1906 (first, vertical) design has a 10 penni denomination; I have only seen it in two colors (red and blue). The red version is unusual, but the blue version is many times scarcer than the red.

The 1913 bird design I have seen in blue, brown, and red. Examples are scarce; I have not seen enough of them to get a sense of whether any colors are scarcer than others.

Lastly, the 1913 well-kept horse design I have seen in at least blue and brown; I am not sure if I have seen it in red. This design is also scarce.
