Scott #274-7 [1952 Sveinn Björnsson, First President of Iceland] (VF) Complete set on very fresh and attractive FDC, cacheted (Icelandic flag design from the 40 aur 1930 Parliament issue), neat typed address, to the U.S. with "KEFLAVIK / FLUGVÖLLUR" (Keflavik Airport) 1 September 1952 cancellation. As nice an example of this scarcer FDC as I have ever had. Surprisingly, this FDC price is about the same as for a set of Used stamps! ACTUAL item. |

Scott #284-6 [1954 Hannes Hafstein, 50th anniversary of appointment as the first minister of Icelandic Parliament] (VF) Complete set on very fresh and attractive FDC, cacheted (map and shield maiden / female warrior), neat typed address, to the U.S. with "KEFLAVIK / FLUGVÖLLUR" (Keflavik Airport) 1 June 1954 cancellation. As nice an example of this scarcer FDC as I have ever had. Surprisingly, priced only a little more than the value of the Used stamps! ACTUAL item. |
