Norway: Souvenir Cards: Engraver Signature Souvenir Cards

Starting in 1978 the post office began to officially issue "signeringkort", a type of souvenir card that presents that the artwork of a stamp designer and/or the engraving of a specific engraver. Issued in conjunction with stamp shows and Stamp Day events at which a stamp designer or engraver was present, many examples, but not all, of the cards were hand signed. All but a couple of the cards were issued by the post office (the couple others were issued by the Norwegian Banknote Printing Works). Most of the cards bear printed images of stamps with a space for the actual stamp to be affixed. Card may exist in multiple forms: with or without a stamp affixed and/or with or without a related postmark and/or with and without a engraver signature. All forms are collectible and sought after. The cards are listed in the 2004 book "The Little Library of Norwegian Philately, Volume 1" which is available from me. That references shows the last issue recorded was in 1997; it lists a total of 30 issues. Most of the cards are quite scarce. All items are fresh and in VF condition. All items are available for viewing on approval.
