Slania: Jamaica: Stamps

The Slania-engraved stamps of Jamaica are not actually engraved. Slania did make engravings which were then reproduced by high-quality photolithography (offset printing), almost reproducing the quality of an engraved print but without the high cost.

The original printings of these stamps do not have a date in the bottom margin, however, later printings do have year dates in the bottom margin -- some of which are extremely hard to obtain despite very modest catalog values. Initially the listings in the Scott and Gibbons catalogs did not include the later, dated, versions, but now they do -- however many collectors are still not aware of the existence of the later, dated, versions.

All items are VF and fresh, and Scott numbers stated, unless otherwise described.
