Slania-engraved stamps on group of four 1958-1959 covers. While these stamps include some of his early work, interestingly Slania had already been living in Sweden for a couple of years by the time that these covers were mailed -- even though he had left Poland, in 1956, for a better life in Sweden, his stamps were still being sold in Polish post offices. His stamps are mixed with other (non-Slania) stamps as is typical for non-philatelic mail. Three are airmail with different (very nice) airmail etiquettes [one has a light-faded mark]. The fourth is registered and though not marked for air, it has an airmail stamp and looks to have enough postage for airmail [envelope damaged at top from rough opening]. All are from small towns / villages, to the U.S. The stamps on these covers include three (1.55 airmail) for which Slania was "only" the designer (name on left side) and three for which he was the engraver (name on right side).
