Scott #2 Type I HIGH OVERPRINT Facit #4Iv3, Faroe Daka GF10 2017 #4B, AND Scott #4 PROOF PRINT (ESSAY) WITHOUT BAR BELOW "20" AND "20" DOUBLED Facit #6v4, Faroe Daka GF10 2017 #6PII [1941 20 øre overprint on 1 øre Numeral and 1940 20 øre overprint on 15 øre Caravel] Used, both stamps with VF centering on large piece of envelope, canceled 30 October 1941 at THORSHAVN. The 1 øre "high overprint" is not just a random shift, it is a major variety listed in all the catalogs. The overprint is positioned with the "20" numerals on top of "DANMARK". It is believed that only six sheets of the "high overprint" were printed. The majority of them were used, often in combination with the 20 øre "without bar". The 20 øre "without bar" is often called a "proof" in the specialized catalogs, but it is more properly termed an "essay" -- a trial of the overprint design. Two sheets of the 20 øre "without bar" were printed, one of those sheets had the overprint doubled (as this example). [Only a single example of the 20 øre "without bar" is known to exist, NOT doubled, in Unused/Mint condition, and NONE are known to exist in Unused/Mint condition with the overprint doubled. The doubling of the overprint is hard to see because the placement of the second strike is very close to the first strike; view under at least 10x magnification.] It is believed that virtually all of both versions of the 20 øre "without bar" were used in combination with the 1 øre "high overprint", as is the case with this example. Thus collectors of "mint only" Faroe stamps must accept a Used example! With only 100 originally overprinted of this red stamp, this is a "rare" stamp that is missing from virtually all Faroe collections. Both stamps are seldom offered and examples with both on the same piece are even scarcer! The total Facit 2024 value as two Used single stamps is SEK 8500! Accompanied by a 1977 Gunner Lundegaard Nielsen photo certificate (which does not mention the doubled 20) AND accompanied by a 2024 Jay Smith color certificate with "lifetime" guarantee.

5 Type I [1940 50 øre overprint on 5 øre Numeral; 1940 Overprint Type I] Mint, very lightly hinged, with F-VF+ centering. A bright and fresh example of a scarce stamp that is missing from many collections. (I guarantee this stamp is genuine. It is not a stamp that normally requires a certificate, however, if you wish to have a certificate, for the reduced cost of only $20 I will supply a Jay Smith certificate with "Lifetime" Guarantee. Allow an extra week for processing.) [Overprint Type I has 12.75 mm spacing, a crisp impression, and solid black numerals. Overprint Type II has 13+ mm spacing, a slightly doubled-looking impression, and partially UNfilled numerals. The measuring is done from the right edge of one "0" the right edge of the other "0".] This is great example of a stamp that can be quite hard to find with such nice appearance.

6 Type I [1940 60 øre overprint on 6 øre Numeral] Used with XF-Superb centering and wonderful, nearly perfectly centered, VAAG 11 January 1941 town cancellation. This high denomination stamp was mostly used on parcel cards and money orders where the cancellations were seldom so nicely struck. An outstanding example -- the nicest I have had in quite some time.
