| Rough perforations are to be expected on the 1922 Karelia stamps and are not a defect. Only the first issue (1922) stamps are known to have been forged, however, the vast majority of the 1922 stamps offered on the market are forged, even when offered by reputable, but non-specialist dealers. The genuine stamps are usually easily identifiable with the right information. I only sell Karelia stamps and covers that have been properly examined. I do not consider it necessary that collectors incur the cost of certificates for these issues, if they are purchased from a knowledgable specialist. However, if purchased from a non-specialist, they should at least be examined by a specialist. Caution is required. I am interested in buying all 1922 Karelia stamps. | ||
