8-14 IMPERFORATE PAIRS. Mint VF set of GENUINE imperforate pairs, all horizontal except the 50 and 80 penni. The 80 penni has a vertical crease only visible from the backside and the 1 mark has some minor bends which are typical for the issue. Mostly very light hinging. Each pair signed HP by the expert Henrik Pollak. Imperforate examples of these stamps are grossly undercataloged and underappreciated -- they are extremely scarce and even odd singles are seldom offered. I believe that this is only the third set of pairs I have had in 38 years! ACTUAL item. |

8-14 "Inkerin hyväksi" OVERPRINTS [Complete pictorial set, with overprint] NEVER HINGED COMPLETE OVERPRINTED SET. The centering varies considerably: 10p Superb, 30p XF, 50p VF, 80p F-VF, 1m Average, 5m Just Fine with a few blunted perfs, and 10m VF-XF with a couple blunted perfs. Overprinted in 1921, meaning "for Ingermanlands prosperity" and sold at face value for charity. 5000 each of the Penni values were overprinted, but ONLY 2000 EACH of the Mark values were overprinted. Even random singles of these overprints are extremely difficult to locate despite what the catalogs suggest. This is only the second time in 49 years that I have been able to offer a complete set (the last time was likely in the 1980s and it was hinged). Other than that, I have only previously been able to offer one random overprinted single stamp (10m, Hinged) and one of the values with inverted overprint (80p Hinged). I cannot over-emphasize the scarcity of these overprints and especially examples in NH condition. ACTUAL item. |
