These bargain-priced stamps are attractive, but most have hidden flaws. You can save a tremendous amount of money when you add such stamps to your collection. Each stamp is one of a kind, so please let me know if I may substitute a different example (that looks as good or better, for the same cost) if the stamp you order has sold. If you have any doubts, all are available for approval viewing. If you are seeking stamps of this quality and price level from any of the Scandinavian countries, just send along your want list -- I will be happy to send bargains on approval. Scott numbers have been used unless otherwise stated.
Scott #B1-3 [1930 First Nordkap Semi-Postal Set] Used with F-VF+/VF/Superb centering. The cancellations are all remarkably light and neat corner cancellations that allow the design to show, but are either unclear / undated, thus presumed to be used later, and the #B1 was used in 1977 (but it was still valid for postage). An attractive set with matched appearance! Facit 2024 value is SEK 1300 = ca. US$130 (9/2025) for normal Used quality, but this set is offered at a very low price!

Scott #B24 [1941 20+80 øre Norwegian Legion Semi-Postal] Mint, very lightly hinged, with F-VF (typical) centering. Fresh, with bright color, "perfect" perforations, and correct lightly hinged original gum. While this is a fairly "modern" stamp, it can be hard to find examples that have VF or better centering. This example has the F-VF centering that is typical for the issue. The Norwegian Legion (June 1941 - March 1943) was a force of approximately 1900 (total, over time) pro-Nazi Norwegians volunteers who had been promised to be commanded by Norwegian officers and to fight in Finland against Russia (as Norwegian volunteers had done during the 1939-1940 Winter War between Finland and Russia). Instead, the force was sent to the Eastern Front and participated in the Siege of Leningrad, and was commanded mostly by German officers. The stamp pictures a Norwegian Legion soldier along with the Norwegian and Finnish flags. This is a key Norwegian stamp from the WWII era and is missing from many collections. Scott 2026 Mint Hinged value is $30!

Scott #B24 [1941 20+80 øre Norwegian Legion Semi-Postal] Used with VF centering and a neat partial cancellation "O...." (correct spacing for OSLO) and with partial date 18 December (year not showing). Even though the year date is not showing, this example shows all the expected characteristics of a genuine used-in-period cancellation. The majority of genuinely canceled examples of this stamp seen in the marketplace either bear a partial official first day postmark (having been soaked off a first day cover). Most other (non-FD) canceled examples of single #B24 stamps that are seen in the marketplace do not show a full year date and thus have to be assumed to have philatelic or late-use or incorrect cancellations. This is a key Norwegian stamp from the WWII era and is missing from many collections. Scott 2026 Used value is $100 (which is much too low for a genuinely used non-FD cancellation). My price is low because this example lacks the year date, but I am confident that this was canceled in the correct time period. Facit #RM 1a [1878 Rose-Lilac "ubesörget" Returned Letter Stamp; NK #R1y] Mint, NO GUM, with typical Average centering. With typical thin spots and with a hidden tear. This was probably actually used. Sometimes these stamps were not canceled at all, or were canceled with a pen, since only the post office itself could use such stamps. Used examples with a proper handstamped postmark are valued about 2.5 times the value of a Mint example. They are almost always poorly centered and the vast majority of them have thin spots and/or other defects! The overall quality and appearance of this example is fairly typical for these unusual Returned Letter Stamps. A Mint with-gum example, without any thins, but with centering identical to this example, would sell for about $150. For comparison, a Mint with-gum example, without any faults, but with F-VF centering would easily fetch $250!

Facit #RM 2b [1872 DARK GREEN "uindlöst" Returned Letter Stamp; NK #R2x] Used with handstamped proper postal cancellation, with typical Average centering. Rounded upper left corner perforation tooth and with a "hidden" tear. However, this example does NOT have the usual small thin spots seen most of the time. An extremely scarce Dark Green stamp seldom offered in any quality! Sometimes these stamps were not canceled at all, or were canceled with a pen, since only the post office itself could use such stamps. Used examples with a proper handstamped postmark are valued at somewhat more than value of a Mint example, and are valued at 6x the value of a pen canceled example! They are almost always poorly centered and the vast majority of them have thin spots and/or other defects! The Facit 2024 value is SEK 7500 (5/2026 ca.US$750 with handstamped postal cancellation, not pen cancellation). This is the Dark Green color, NOT the more often encountered Blue Green color. Attractive and reasonably priced.
