This cancellation is known applied on this date in violet. On this violet stamp, the violet cancellation is hard to see, but it is very nicely struck. Scott #14 [1920 Zone 2 (No Overprint) 10 mark] Used with F-VF centering and with VF "HADERSLEBEN / (SCHLESW.) 2a" bridge-style 10 February 1920 cancellation in black. The stamp has a thin spot (NOT obvious), but looks very nice with a particularly well-struck cancellation. Though the top part of the cancellation is off the stamp, the lower part does show -- and this is fairly unusual and is important because that is the part that shows the "2a" postmark device. A normally canceled example of this stamp with this centering (but without the thin spot) would sell for $42! This example is priced very low. ACTUAL item. |
