Collections: World: Topical
I am constantly buying large and small collections and often have a variety of U.S. and Worldwide collections, lots, and accumulations available. If you are considering getting into a new area and would like a "starter collection" (whether small or large), let me know about your interest. Also, if you are seeking used binders or used empty albums to match what you currently have, again, let me know. Here are a few samples of collections. The listings below are included by happenstance. If you are seeking a particular country or type of material, please let me know. Payment plans are available. I guarantee your satisfaction.

Due to the low prices, variations in weight, and different mailing methods, distances, and destinations, shipping cost is additional for items in the Specials Collections listings unless otherwise mentioned. When ordering please include a note in the shopping cart comments section indicating if you prefer faster/costlier or slower/cheaper delivery so that I may more quickly quote the shipping costs and options for you.

Collections and lots are not normally sent on approval. If you have questions about an item, please inquire before ordering. Special return and refund limitations typically apply to such items. Please see the "Order Info" page for details.

Each item is one of a kind; orders will be filled in order of receipt. Payment by MasterCard or Visa suggested, but I will hold items for 10 days pending receipt of check if you prefer.

Elvis Presley 25th Anniversary Edition Souvenir Sheets: Two 2002 Elvis Presley 25th Anniversary Edition souvenir sheets of 9: Antigua #2584 $1 and Maldive Islands #2643 5R., OG, NH VF. Attractive and a highly popular topic!

Dogs Topical Collection -- Great For Dog Lovers : This is an unmounted collection / accumulation of approximately mostly-different 250 worldwide stamps and souvenir sheets picturing DOGS, plus there are many more stamps representing the balance of sets where only one value features a dog. There are also more than 100 covers, mostly cacheted first day covers from many different countries. Mostly 1970s-1980s (and earlier), the stamps are mostly NH in new issue envelopes or on dealers cards, virtually all VF. There is an enormous range of breeds and dog subjects, ranging from show dogs and pets to working dogs such as disability assistance dogs and Laika (the first dog in space). The collector had a special interest in huskies, thus there are many Arctic-theme items picturing dog sled teams. The best item I noticed was a NH Belgium Scott #B605a souvenir sheet (Scott $175). Mostly different, but with some very minor duplication. I did not take the time (so I do not have to charge more) to calculate the catalog value of the collection, but this will be a terrific deal! A wonderful start on this popular topic, or a significant addition to an existing collection!

Elvis Presley First Day Cover Collection: Cachets and Cancellations of the 3 Different U.S. Elvis Stamp Issues: A large collection of ONLY Elvis covers; a 14-inch stack covers -- approximately 650 covers (not counted). The vast majority are FDCs of the three different 1993 Elvis stamps, with a plethora of different cachets and/or cancellations. There are some (less than 10% I would say) that are not FDCs, but have other Elvis-themed cancellations. Though the cachets are not all different (there may be various different FD cancels for the same cachet; likely very low volume items), the overall variety is incredible. These were collected by an avid philatelist and Elvis fan who lived in the Memphis area at the time and he had contacts with local cachet makers, etc. -- some of them are surely very-low-quantity cachets. As a wonderful coincidence, the American First Day Cover Society has just (late 2020) published an Elvis FDC cachets catalog either as a downloaded PDF or as unbound printed pages that can be purchased here. With this collection and that catalog, you will have a huge head start on a terrific collection. Some of these covers are going to be scarce due to various factors, though not necessarily valuable. However, certainly there are covers present up to at least $5 in value, if not more. Priced as a collection at LESS THAN 50-cents per cover, this is a huge bargain. Keep in mind that the stamp itself cost 29 cents and the postage to obtain each one cost either 29 cents or 58 cents! I do not think you will find a better deal. Get him while Elvis IS In The Building!

World Wildlife Fund (WWF) First Day Cover Collection 1976-1978: A great collection of 108 1976-1978 World Wildlife Fund first day covers from about 37 different countries. The FDCs are all neatly addressed and have very attractive colored-engraved cachets illustrating the type of animal on the stamp. A few of the cancellations include wildlife illustrations. This collection was authorized by the WWF. A very attractive group with individual retail values ranging up to at least $2, and perhaps more. Presented in a very attractive brand-new-looking, large, dark green binder with silver imprinting. Offered for less than 30 cents per cover! Whether you collect FDCs or the WWF in particular, or are just a lover of animals, this is a great opportunity.

"The United States Constitution Bicentennial Covers Collection": The history of the development of the U.S. Constitution and related subsequent events expressed in about 90 philatelic covers. The events of 1787 through 1790 are represented by covers canceled 1987-1990 at a relevant location, and with relevant stamps. Each cover is attractively cacheted with full color images (all different) of the subject and is accompanied by a similar sized card with text about the subject/event. Presented two per page showing the cover and card on the same side, thus 45 total crystal-clear 2-row cover pages. Attractively housed in high quality, red leather-like, with gold decoration, lay-flat 3-D-ring cover binder. A new cover binder of this quality (without the decoration of course) would probably cost at least $25 today. The covers, pages, and binder are all in perfect condition. Prepared by the "Postal Commemorative Society". I have not previously encountered this particular collection. I do not know the exact price that was charged for these pages, but in my experience, I am guessing at least $3 per cover or an original cost of around $270, if not more! This would be very appealing to a U.S. history buff even if they were not a stamp collector. Offered for only a fraction of the original cost!

American March to Freedom Commemorative Panels Collection: Handsome collection of 40 different large illustrated commemorative panels telling the story of the American movement toward independence. Each bears mint stamp issues pertaining to the events being described on each respective panel. The narrative text ties together the American Bicentennial and related issues with the sequence of events which brought on the Revolutionary War and ending with the Treaty of Paris of 1783. Contained in an attractive dark blue illustrated binder in nice, protective plastic sleeves. A handsome presentation of an attractive and interesting subject. This price is a fraction of the original subscription cost! This appears to be the complete set; I have only seen these in sets of 40. The panels are also very suitable for framing and other displays -- they are a great way to introduce the public to stamp collecting. They would also be great for use as displays or teaching aids in schools.
