United States First Day Cover Group: 1979-1981 With Unusual FD Cancels: Group of about 150 (2.75 inches stack tightly squeezed) U.S. FDCs on plain uncacheted small envelopes. Sent in for canceling to the FD city by a collector. About half have addresses typed on the envelopes and about half with typed address labels affixed. Most or all appear to have been returned to the collector directly through the mail, thus many have faint postal sorter markings on the reverse, proving postal transit. Because these we sent in to the cities for FD cancellations (and were not commercially processed), they have different versions of the FD cancellations than are usually seen for these stamp issues, both manual-lever-machine and handstamped. Such cancellations are not often offered from this era. There are a good range of both combination blocks and singles of se-tenant stamp issues, marginal markings (zip and copyright marginal singles), coil strips, etc. At first there appears to be light duplication, but most of those have different marginal markings. Though these look "ordinary", they are much, much scarcer than the usual commercially-made cacheted FDCs that were sold in large quantities. Covers like these are greatly under-appreciated. Many great topics are included in the stamp issues. Shipping cost is additional for this item.

U.S. FDCs and Covers With .925 Purity Solid Silver Full-Size Stamp "Ingots" (for less than the bullion value): A group of six 1987 covers, three FDCs and three non-FDC, all commemorating aspects of the United States Constitution Bicentennial. Produced by The Franklin Mint, all are in perfect condition. I believe that the complete set (as originally issued) of these covers had around 25 covers in it and came in a fancy binder. This is only six covers, but it includes the Franklin Mint letter that accompanied the first purchase. The stamp issues are: Delaware Statehood FDC, Pennsylvania Statehood FDC, Preamble U.S. Constitution FDC, 1966 Bill of Rights commemorative cover, 1938 Ratification of the Constitution commemorative cover, 1936 Susan B. Anthony commemorative cover -- all the covers are dated 1987. The silver ingots reproduce each stamp design in great detail. The SILVER ingots hold all the value of these items. These ingots are .925 pure silver, the full size of the stamps they replicate (5 commemorative size and one definitive size) and they have significant thickness -- they are hefty. The group of 6 covers weighs about 7.5 ounces; I estimate that the total silver weight is around 2 to 2.5 ounces. The silver weight may be more, but I cannot find any details on this and the ingots cannot be accurately weighed without destroying the covers. The silver bullion value today (20 February 2025) is around $33 PER OUNCE -- I will figure that as 2 ounces, thus $66 of silver. The covers are very attractive, as are the ingots. While I could probably get more for these by messing around putting them on eBay, I have priced this very low to sell quickly. Shipping cost is additional for this item.
