Group of 5 1950-1953 personal correspondence covers from DHAHRAN, Saudi Arabia, to Norfolk, Virginia.: Group of 5 1950-1953 personal correspondence covers from DHAHRAN, Saudi Arabia, to Norfolk, Virginia. All are small sized envelopes in reasonable condition, though one opened roughly at one end. As usual the postmarks are hard to read, but fortunately the recipient noted the date of receipt for each cover. The sender was an American working for Bechtel and/or Aramco. Each cover bears two postage stamps plus the obligatory postal tax stamp. The variety of postage stamps include Scott #161 (1), 163 (3), 168 (1), 169 (1), C1 (1), and C4 (2). The franking pays the 5.50g rate for one and the 11g rate for the other four. The postal tax stamps (one damaged) are various colors and varieties of the rouletted 1/8g Scott #RA6 or 6b; the rouletting configurations vary, but one is a combination of perforations and rouletting not mentioned in Scott. While the stamps have only modest catalog values, such covers can be quite hard to find and are now very much sought after in the home country. Offered as a group.
