1. NEW PRICE LISTS

NORWAY POSTAL STATIONERY: I had wanted to wait until the listings were complete, however, there is so much material and it is taking me so long that I am tired of waiting. I have Mint and Used postal cards, letter cards, letter sheets, envelopes, aerograms, ration cards, etc. I also have the modern illustrated postal cards that few people seem to know exist. Perhaps a quarter of the items are on the site at this moment. Please keep checking back because I will be working on it over the next couple of weeks. If you collect Norwegian postal stationery or just want to see what some of it looks like, take a look starting here.

2. NEW PHILATELIC LITERATURE
Book orders totaling over $30 are postpaid in the U.S. For book orders totaling under $30, please add $3. Postage to other countries varies by weight & method; please inquire.

ALAND SPECIALIZED CATALOG 2003
(Fillips, 2003; Aland Spezial 2003) The most comprehensive Aland specialized catalog in print. Of course includes stamps, booklets, gutter pairs, FDCs, etc., but also plate varieties, postal stationery, maximum cards, show cards, special cancellations, year sets, phone cards, and a postal rate chart. Includes a map with locations of the Aland towns. Text is in German, with SOME ENGLISH, and the prices are in Euros. Has a large number of illustrations and it is easy to use. #1014 $26.50    Order Online

DENMARK & DWI CLASSIC REFERENCES: THE HAGEMANN SERIES
G.A. Hagemann was a pioneer researcher and philatelic writer who had a major influence on the development of Danish and DWI philately. His 1940s-1950s books were seminal references that are still hugely valuable today. Each volume contains both Danish and DWI parts, are completely in English and offer a wealth of information. See the listings starting here.

3. FACIT SCANDINAVIAN SPECIALIZED CATALOG 2003 IN COLOR, OFFERED PAGES BY COUNTRY

My previous offering of 2001 Facit pages by country was successful and helpful for many clients who would not have otherwise purchased the complete bound catalog.

I can now offer the 2003 COLOR Facit pages, by country! In order to avoid an imbalance of unsold catalog sections, I am forced to regulate the sales by adjusting section prices. Some prices have gone down (to increase sales) and some have gone up (to reduce/balance sales of certain sections). This is necessary so that I can cover the cost of the whole catalog I have to cut up.

Just so there is no misunderstanding, these are genuine pages, not copies. I actually cut up the catalog so that you can receive loose, unbound pages of just the section(s) you desire.

A few countries are the victim of the first and/or last page being shared with another country. In those cases, I offer the country, both complete and missing the shared page(s). Most people will not miss the shared page, but the choice is available to you.

Book orders totaling over $30 are postpaid in the U.S. For book orders totaling under $30, please add $3. Postage to other countries varies by weight & method; please inquire.

4. JAY'S OBSERVATIONS

BUSY TIMES: The last couple of months have been unusually hectic here in normally-peaceful Snow Camp. The highlight was the college graduation of Bonnie's youngest daughter last weekend. Despite her own prediction to the contrary, Hillary not only got through in four years, but did so as a Chancellor's Scholar, graduating Cum Laude with a BS in Psychology. She can use her new training on herself as she faces the unpleasant reality therapy of finding a job in the real world. She is living in Charleston, South Carolina, so if you need a sharp young person to join your staff in Charleston, just let us know.

Otherwise, in the last month, we have attended two regional shows, had the roof on the house replaced (long overdue!) and gotten the painters and repair people started on getting the house fit to survive another few years. Next we will have to tackle the office, which needs all the same treatments.

If we have been a bit slow replying to correspondence or sending approvals, now you know why.

THROOP IS GETTING MARRIED! Throop Brown (pronounced 'troop') who in 1999 moved to Snow Camp to join our outfit, surprised himself by finding a local bride! This Friday, he will be the lucky groom to Karen Sheaffer, an artist in several media, a dealer in picture post cards, and a retired librarian. I am sure they will be quite happy as she looks at the picture side of post cards while Throop looks at the mailing side! However, it will be interesting when they each want a card for different reasons. I suppose if that is the worst of their problems, then life will be good. We wish them great happiness. Those understanding what it is like to be married to a philatelist may send donations to the Philatelic Widows Fund.
