Denmark: Cancellations: By Type - Three Ring - Numeral - 1 to 49
Scott numbers have been used unless otherwise indicated. Cancellations starting with the letter "Å", "Æ" and "Ø" are at the end of the alphabet. These listings are just a random tiny fraction of the thousands of Danish cancellations that I have in stock. If you are seeking specific numbers, towns, or types of cancellations, or cancels on specific stamps, please send your want list. All these items and much more are available for viewing on approval; please request approvals.
If you are seeking specific numbers or cancellations on specific stamps, please send your want list. Many numeral cancellation numbers were re-assigned to different towns in 1864, thus some are collected in both periods. The most recent listing of different types of each numeral cancellation, as well as recorded dates of use, is a 1999 book by Jensen and Helding -- please let me know if you are seeking this book.

O7 Dull Ultramarine (Print 1 or 2) [1875 4 øre Perf 14x13.5 Official] (F-VF) on very neat and attractive 11 July 1875 folded cover (no contents) with #25 3-ring numeral cancel and superb year-dated postmark from HØRSHOLM .This stamp was first issued 1 January 1875 with Print 1 (dull ultramarine) and Print 2 (dark dull ultramarine) appeared in March (Print 3 not until 1877). The ultramarine colors are seldom seen on cover. Also, early official covers with year-dated postmarks are quite unusual. The cover is sealed with an undamaged, embossed yellow-orange PAPER WAFER, reading "[crown] / FREDERIKSBORG / AMTSTUE" -- intact paper sealing wafers are quite unusual. A very nice and unusual cover!

15 [1864 16 skilling Crown and Scepter, Perf 13 x 12.5] Used VF+ with neat #28 3-ring cancellation (Holbæk), strong color, and very nice perforations. The upper left corner perf tip is weak, but even if the tip came off, it would still be a very attractive stamp! Unusually fresh for this stamp (which was mostly used on mail that got roughly handled). This stamp is surprisingly difficult to find in such nice quality; the centering is often poor, the perfs are usually a mess and there is almost always some type of defect. This one is really nice. Facit value for ordinary quality is SEK 1600 ($210 8/2018).
