1880s 8 öre postal stationery envelope with "J.M." PERFIN of the J. Moresco company, and with company return address. Used from KJØBENHAVN to Roeskilde, with receiver; all lapidar-style postmarks. In the world of philately, perfined postal stationery is a rare occurrence. While this particular item is not "rare", examples in such nice quality are seldom offered!

26 Print 65 pair, #28 Print 69 (VF) on ca.1893 4 øre postal stationery envelope used as a cash-on-delivery (3 kr, 26 ore) parcel letter from RANDERS to ALLINGAABRO with "ALLINGAABRO 3 TOG" railway receiver on reverse (Skilling-Daka 2007 #32; fairly scarce; usage so far reported 9 Nov 1883 - 20 Aug 1890). Printings confirmed by Lasse Nielsen. Both printings date from 1893. This type COD parcel label (AFA #A3, COD parcels) came into use in 1887. Skilling-Daka shows the receiver recorded (so far) as used into 1890; if the stamp printing identification of this cover is correct, this cover significantly extends the known period of use for this postmark. Marked "Retour" and returned to sender. Very attractive and interesting usage with nice railway receiver. Excellent quality for such items.

"Ekpres Post Lykönskning" 1925 40 øre postal stationery envelope. Express mail for greetings such as for anniversaries, births, graduations, etc. 240 x 160 mm wonderfully illustrated picturing ship, train, ancient burial stones, lion, doves, farms, families, etc. In my opinion, this is a leading contender for the most beautiful item of Scandinavian postal stationery. (There is also another version with ornaments, plants, and birds.) Though they have relatively modest catalog values, they are rarely offered and few collectors know that such beautiful items exist! Mint VF.
