Scott #4 PLATE VARIETIES; Daka #6æ, 6ø, and 6å [1940 20 on 15 overprint] LEFT MARGIN 4-STRIP with left selvage present, NEVER HINGED with F-VF+/VF centering. This strip contains THREE DAKA-LISTED OVERPRINT VARIETIES: Daka #6æ "bar shifted to the right" per Daka from sheet position 31; Daka #6ø "bar pointed on right end" per Daka from sheet position 32; Daka #6å "one dent in right side of 0", but to me it looks like the "right side of 0 flattened". The #6å is stated by Daka to be from sheet position 34, but in this strip the variety is in the third column, which would be sheet position 33 (not 34) based on the varieties in the first two positions. Perhaps this is an error in Daka; I have reported this situation to the Daka editor. The fourth (right-most) stamp in the strip does not show any varieties, but since this fourth stamp appears to be from position 34 (based on the above description), I have left this "normal" stamp attached to the strip as possible proof of the error in Daka of the #6å location. The Daka (2017) values for the overprint varieties are incorrect; some of them are the same as the normal stamp, which is not correct. Facit 2024 lumps the "bar varieties" (left or right shifted, or pointed) all together in the same listing, assigned Facit #6v5, with a value of SEK 1200 each. This 4-strip is priced almost as low a four normal single stamps. A very nice position piece!

65 Olive COLOR ERROR [1981 10 oyru Rune Stone] NH VF single in Yellowish Olive Green instead of the normal Gray Green. Our late friend and Faroe modern-issues expert Art Quarles, who had many personal contacts inside the Faroe post office, was "absolutely sure" that this color difference existed when the Faroe post office received their supply from the stamp printer and that it was not a color changeling. I last had a few examples of this error back in 2007 and all very quickly sold for $250 each. Recently I obtained a few more examples, but I now have only one example still available.
