Official year packs are the officially made "year sets" of the annual stamp issues, in special packaging, with attractive pictures and useful text. The price of the recent year packs is normally the same as the price of the contents. Many people collect the intact year packs in addition to the stamps, while others just purchase the attractive packs to obtain the stamps for placement in an album. (It is a good idea to hold onto the empty pack; over time the packaging itself increases in value.)

While the post offices intend the packs to contain all the stamps issued during the year, they often accidentally or purposefully omit stamps that most collectors will want. The "+" items in the list below are additional items that most albums call for and/or most collectors ask me to supply along with the year pack. (These "+" items also seem to increase in value faster because many collectors are not aware of them until it is too late. Obviously those people are not my new issue clients; the "+" items are normally supplied to the subscribers to my new issue service!)

For the future, you can lower your cost of new issues by obtaining regular coverage through my new issue service, at new issue prices. If you would like to obtain the 2003 issues and get started on my new issue service for 2004 and beyond, I can offer a discount on the 2003 issues. Please inquire.
