Sweden: Proofs: Gustav V in Round Frame

Swedish proofs are generally very scarce and are seldom offered. Whether they are used to add "spice" to a collection or to document the development of a stamp issue, they are quite interesting, attractive, and difficult to obtain.

Scott numbers (of the basic stamps) have been used unless otherwise indicated. All items are available for viewing on approval.

Scott #80, Facit #82 [10 øre Gustav V in Round Frame, without watermark] Imperforate color plate proof in reddish brown. 4-block with full right sheet margin, ungummed (was never gummed). Strong impression, stunning appearance. I cannot remember previously being able to offer any examples of this color proof. This was probably a color trial proof -- the color appears to be that of the issued 15 øre stamp. A spectacular item!
