United States Postal Stationery in Three Cover Albums: Three nice Harco Kleer-Vue cover albums (poly pages, two-high, black inserts so can use both sides), with padded binders (red, blue, and brown), containing a selection of about 285 mostly modern postal stationery envelopes and postal cards. Majority mint plus some used and some first day canceled. Modest duplication, virtually all VF and fresh. The highlight is a set of 9 covers with special cancels for the 1979 Papal Visit of John Paul II. In my opinion, the albums are worth almost as much as their contents, so this group is ideal for someone who can use these attractive cover albums. Shipping cost is additional for this item.

Scott #U273 [1884 2 cent brown on white paper Washington (round O in TWO) envelope] Used with VF appearance on front. Backside with aging. From JAMAICA, NY, May 2, to NYC, with 1884 receiver. Very scarce envelope entire. (Scott 2015 $190 for entire.) The May 2, 1884, date is a month earlier than the "June 1884" date noted in stock. This may be an earliest known use? The die characteristics do match exactly with all features of Scott #U273 (image type U65) .

Scott #U278, 2c Brown on Amber Washington postal stationery entire postmark with octagonal 1887 Downs, Kansas, postmark, VF. On reverse is a lovely full-space tribute to the eighth anniversary of the City of Downs, with a laudatory message from the Board of Trade. Sent to Osborne, Kansas, with backstamp. A compelling piece of 19th century promotional advertising mail.
