"The Career of a Navigator" souvenir booklet of 24 numbered pages plus cover. #1051 is affixed to the title page with first day cancel. #1051 is the only Slania-engraved design of the set of stamps related to this subject. Prince Albert I had great interest in exploration and navigation. This illustrated booklet, in French, officially issued by Monaco, is an overview of his explorations, including his 1898 Arctic Spitzbergen (Svalbard) expedition. Very scarce item. [209686] |
