Scott #10 [10 Cent Bicolor] Imperforate Plate Proof. AFA 2016 Specialized #P11 (value DKK 3000): 1876, Frame Group 3 (in the 10 cent stamps, only stamp Print 1 used Frame Group 3), on ungummed thin white paper without watermark. The colors are very close to the colors of the Print 2 stamps. Four large margins and well centered. Great color and freshness, but with defects: Two thins, one of which terminates as a dent in the top margin; tear at bottom below the small "10". The paper of these early DWI proofs is so thin that many/most examples have defects. Very scarce; I doubt that more than a few dozen examples still exist today. However, because of the defects, offered at a very low price. |
