Faroe: Souvenir Folders And Presentation Packs: Tourist Airport Presentation Packs

In 1984 and 1985, the Faroe Post Office prepared special presentation packs, sealed with a blue price label in Danish Kroner, including VAT. These packs were primarily sold to tourists at the Kastrup Airport in Købehavn, but at least some are also known to have been sold at Ærøskøbing and Århus (both also in Denmark). Quantities issued were approximately 3000 each. [Wowern GF10 1991.] Five specific stamp issue packs have been recorded in the catalogs; only the Chess issue pack has been recorded with two different types of price label seal, with and without post office logo. In 2019 I discovered that 1983 and 1984 Faroe year packs were also similarly packaged, labeled, and sold in the same manner; quantities prepared unknown but likely very few. I have only seen the 1983 with logo on the seal and have only seen 1984 without logo on the seal. All these types of packs sold to tourists were typically purchased one per person; I do not believe that there were ever any wholesale stocks of them or offers of them to stamp collectors.
