Collections: Scandinavia: Finland
I am constantly buying large and small collections and have built up quite a stock of nice, clean Scandinavian country collections. If you are considering getting into a new area and would like a "starter collection" (whether small or large), let me know about your interest. Also, if you are seeking used binders or used empty albums to match what you currently have, again, let me know. Here are a few samples of collections. The listings below are included by happenstance. If you are seeking a particular country or type of material, please let me know. Payment plans are available. I guarantee your satisfaction.

Due to the low prices, variations in weight, and different mailing methods, distances, and destinations, shipping cost varies and is additional for items in the Specials Collections listings unless otherwise mentioned. When ordering please include a note in the shopping cart comments section indicating if you prefer faster/costlier or slower/cheaper delivery so that I may more quickly quote the shipping costs and options for you.

Collections and lots are not normally sent on approval. If you have questions about an item, please inquire before ordering. Special return and refund limitations typically apply to such items. Please see the "Order Info" page for details.

Each item is one of a kind; orders will be filled in order of receipt. Payment by MasterCard or Visa suggested, but I will hold items for 10 days pending receipt of check if you prefer.

Finland Mint Collection 1891-1975 on Scott Pages: Neat group of Scott Specialty pages (punched for 2-post binder, pages starting with 1891), with good range of Mint stamps. Light coverage up to 1950 but well-filled thereafter. Includes very good range of semi-postal stamps. Neatly hinged (seems to be very good, peelable hinges) on pages very clean and attractive. The quality almost universally VF. JSA retail (mint hinged prices) is over $610 with any potential paper varieties counted at the least costly possibility. A great and inexpensive way to get a lot of stamps and the album pages too.

Finland Mint Collection 1941-2002: Collection of over 450 different mint, plus a few booklets, neatly mounted in Scott Specialty album. Pages run from 1856 through 2002 but are mixed: some are printed and some are hand-lettered quad pages, all in a slightly worn but quite serviceable 2-inch green 2-post Scott "Scandinavia and Finland" binder. Greatest strength is in lightly hinged 1954-78 issues including both commemoratives and some elusive definitives in issues from the 1979-2002 period, and some semi-postal sets of the 1940s-50s. While not comprehensive, what is here is in quite nice condition almost uniformly VF with the later issues all NH. Scott 2012 retail totals over $825. This is certainly an excellent value at an attractive price!

Finland 1866-1993 Collection in Scott Specialty Album (1856-2013): Collection of about 970 different 1866-1993 stamps and souvenir sheets, mint and used, neatly mounted in Scott Specialty album. Better than usual quality and centering: This starts with a couple of Average Serpentines (#9, 10), then from 1881 on the quality is sound and nearly all VF. Mostly Used, with some Mint through 1983. 1984-1993 (#689//930) is all mint, lightly hinged, and nearly complete. While a few stamps have been removed at some point in time, there are long runs of issues, lots of complete sets, many semi-postals and other back-of-book stamps; lots and lots of great, useful stamps. The Scott 2.5-inch 2-post Specialty binder has a Scott "SCANDINAVIA AND FINLAND" label affixed. The like-new Scott pages are complete, from 1856 through 2013, including back of the book pages. Supplements can be obtained from Scott if you want to continue. Scott 2019 retail totals over $1350, with $470 of that in the mint 1984-1993 issues. A very clean and neat collection, well suited for continuation in this album.

Finland Mint/NH Collection Balance 1917-1992 in Ka-Be Albums: Balance of a substantial mint collection, 434 different from 1917 through 1992, neatly presented in black Showgard mounts on deluxe Ka-Be linen hinge pages. Quality is virtually all sound and F-VF or better, with a high percentage VF. Early issues are lightly hinged; the 1968-1992 period appears to all be NH. The album pages are very fresh and clean; they run from 1856 though 1992 complete and are housed in two binders in excellent condition: One binder is a deluxe padded blue 16-ring Ka-Be binder; the other is a dark blue Ka-Be 2-post hard-cover binder. Scott 2019 retail of the stamps totals about $566. The album new must be at least $200. This is a handsome representation of Finnish philately with lots of colorful commemoratives and semi-postals, including many topicals, perfectly suited for continuation in its present housing. SPECIAL OFFER: You can get a 10% BONUS on purchases of more Finland stamps by paying (at time of ordering this collection) any additional amount between $200 and $2000 and you will receive a merchandise credit of that amount plus 10% more. This is the perfect start for a mint Finnish collection in a handsome housing.

Finland M-30 Covers with All Different 1948-52 Town Cancellations: Impressive collection of 386 covers bearing 1930 Lion issue with ALL DIFFERENT 1948-52 town cancels. Concentrated around 1950, they have a mix of bridge-type (double-ring) and single-ring cancels. There are only a dozen or so machine cancels. There were very few cities and only a modest number of large towns in Finland in 1950, thus most of these are from small towns or tiny villages; many are likely to be scarce. Domestic genuine commercial usages on SMALL SIZE ENVELOPES (none with windows) with a nice variety of stamp frankings. Individually these sell for at least $5 each and up to $8-10 each (individual total around $2300). ALL 386 DIFFERENT FOR LESS THAN $2 PER COVER! Payment terms may be arranged. (Old #30221)
